Planting

We got a great start on our garden today.

As we are in the new space, the garden this year is a challenge.

We’re not yet sure of the soil type(s)/drainage or the pattern of the sun, but most of all, this yard is really small.

I know there are a lot of folks out there that have a lot less to work with and I am taking inspiration from all sorts of articles on container gardening, urban gardening, et cetera. I’d love to hear any ideas you have or of resources you may recommend.

And actually, it really is exciting trying to maximize this space. I do always do best with a challenge.

So today we planted heirloom tomatoes, pole beans, english cucumbers, basil, thyme, purple sage, chives and tarragon. And, from seeds, we did carrots, chioggia beets and lettuce greens.
