When we were at the Harvest Party at Neyers Vineyards yesterday, I was feeling quite artistically-inspired.
Maybe it was the wine in the afternoon, but I really got into a photographic zone.
This is one of my favorite shots from that series. I like it because of the detail and that it displays a completely functional aspect of winemaking. Lots of people–even locals that work in the industry–oftentimes hold this romanticized notion of winemaking.
And while there is this intrinsic mystique to wine (or maybe it’s just really good marketing), it is refreshing to see the practicalities behind the scenes.
It’s my understanding that the shiny metal objects in this photo are hose clamps. As you can see, there are a lot of hoses involved in winemaking.
