Growing up in a small Wisconsin town, I always dreamed of living in California.
After a brief stint on the east coast during high school and (some) college, I found my way to Northern California in the early 90’s.
After a few years in San Francisco, I met my husband-to-be and we enjoyed life in Los Gatos for a bit. In 2002, we did the first-time-home-buyer thing near Sacramento.
Alas, Central Valley suburbia was not for us.
On one of our many escapes to the Napa Valley, I turned to Tom and like countless other tourists before us and after us, said “Let’s move here.”
And, much to my surprise, he said “Okay.”
We went home, did a little research, and put our shiny new house on the market.
We moved to the Napa Valley in early 2005–without jobs, without the security of home ownership, without the blessings of our family.
It was the best thing we’ve ever done. Except having our wonderful daughter, that is.
And now, I am not here trying to be a mommy blogger, wine blogger, food blogger, or a marthastewartwannabe blogger.
But I am here wanting to share my experiences in being a mom, enjoying wine, preparing & eating good food and how I like to keep my home.
I also like writing about what a wonderfully kid-friendly and family-friendly destination the Napa Valley really can be.
Currently, I’ve started my own business, Jezebel Media, a boutique agency specializing in social media, email marketing, and consumer direct sales & marketing for wineries and small businesses.
You can email me at jessica AT jezebelmedia DOT com with any questions and I will get back to you just as soon as I can.
By the way, my last name rhymes with Dakota. Yep, like South Dakota.
