Anyway,
this picture from Babble has really been bugging me. In fact, in the few weeks since I signed up for their pregnancy e-newsletter - titled “Your Pregnancy Guide” - each of the “Your Body” pictures has been entirely annoying.
What woman at 21 weeks pregnant looks like this? No one I’ve ever known. Certainly, I don’t.
She barely even looks pregnant to me.
I’m just glad that this photo makes me mad, rather than sad - or worse, envious or some other sorry sort of negative feeling about my body.
What do you think? Is this an accurate depiction of a woman’s body half-way through pregnancy? Is this the ideal we should be measuring ourselves against? Is this image dangerous to pregnant women and their unborn babies?

Boy, stress does terrible things to one’s mind and body.
I haven’t been good at managing my stress lately.
So with the dual goal of entertaining ourselves and seeing the ocean, Tom, Samantha and I headed to San Francisco.
Maybe it was the cloudy (then rainy) day, maybe it was my ongoing rather persistent foul mood, maybe it was just plain, old-fashioned post-holiday blues, but I sure didn’t get the mind-clearing and perspective-gaining experience I was looking for.
In fact, the beach was stinky and dirty (I’m still hoping we didn’t pick up E. coli on someone’s shoes or something). Even the entire city seemed to have lost its luster. There was much more graffiti and litter than what I remember from my time living there.
Have you been to the city lately? Have you noticed this too?
Or is it just me?
So I have all these topics to write about but I can’t get the corresponding photos off my camera.
It mysteriously stopped working about 3 weeks ago. No connection. Nada.
I’ve been fighting with it. New USB cable, uninstalling software, reinstalling software, new software.
I even read the camera manual.
Aaarrrrrrrrgggh…
Any ideas or suggestions?
