While out and about today, we spotted the first of the mustard in the vineyards.

Tom & I both commented on how early it seems for the mustard to be in bloom. But, funny enough, in looking back at the vineyard updates I found that bloom was even earlier last year.

Driving down valley today, we noticed the first of the mustard has just started to bloom.

The mustard season is one of the most striking, as the vineyards are blanketed in billowing blooms of tiny yellow flowers.

It seems to me that this year the mustard is early. I’m not sure if that’s because we haven’t had that much rain yet, it hasn’t been that cold yet, or that I am just not remembering right.

Anyway, this was taken in the vineyard across from Crane Park. You can see more of this same vineyard during the past year here and here and here.

We’ve been out and about the past few days.

We’ve been exploring the amazing place that’s been our home for the past four years. The enchanting place that we try not to take for granted, but that is sometimes dulled by the stresses of daily life.

We got back to that place; that place we used to visit on weekends that made us say to each other “let’s move here”. The place that we sold our house and quit our jobs and shocked our family to move to.

That place of sweet sighs and simple, striking joys.
